Write to Learn
Learn to Write

Students need to write in all subject areas - specifically when they aren't being evaluated. A non-pressure situation when they are writing will facilitate 'writing to learn.' An added benefit of having students write (without evaluating their writing) across the curriculum, is building their confidence in writing when they are evaluated. In the various pages on this blog you will find different ways to teach writing across the curriculum and many things I have learned about teaching writing in every subject.

Teaching writing across the curriculum is important to instilling confidence and improving student achievement in writing.

  1. That is a really nice point about how writing without being evaluated helps students to build their confidence.
